The Organizing Committee of the Arab Media Forum (AMF) has announced that Dubai Media City (DMC) is the main partner for the 15th edition of Arab Media Forum. Held annually under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the region’s biggest media event will take place this year at the Dubai World Trade Centre on May 10 and 11, 2016. Organized by Dubai Press Club (DPC), the event will host prominent Arab and international media elites, journalists and intellectuals.

Her Excellency Mona Ghanim Al Marri, Chairperson of the AMF Organizing Committee and President of Dubai Press Club, expressed her appreciation and welcomed the partnership which is the result of a long-term and fruitful cooperation between DMC and AMF, noting that such a partnership reflects the well-matched objectives and goals aimed at supporting the Media sector in both entities. She further added that DMC has significantly contributed in positioning the emirate as an integrated and comprehensive media hub hosting more than 2000 Arab and International media headquarters.

Al Marri commended the efforts exerted by DMC and which are aimed at lying a distinctive infrastructure that has long served as a magnet for regional and international media institutions and created a conducive environment for businesses to grow and flourish.

“We are pleased to join DMC in this partnership and are proud to be working with such a leading national establishment that have managed to put Dubai’s name on the Arab and international media map,” Al Marri affirmed, adding that, “We are looking forward to continuing our successful collaboration and cooperation in future initiatives and projects aimed at serving the local and regional media sector.”

Managing Director of Dubai Media City (DMC), Dubai Studio City (DSC) and Dubai Production City (DPC) Majed Al Suwaidi said: “We are proud to join hands with Dubai Press Club as this partnership will further enhance the position of Dubai as the region’s media industry hub.”

Al Suwaidi also highlighted DMC’s next phase which focusses on creative content development. “We will concentrate on nurturing local talent and entrepreneurs, who are the future of the media industry,” he said. “To provide a new platform for media start-ups, we launched “in5 Media”, an integral part of our incubation platform which aims at enabling the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem in Dubai and the region as a whole”.

Al Suwaidi said that DMC will showcase a miniature of “in5” media during the Arab Media Forum to explore the new platform and encourage founders and entrepreneurs to innovate at the boundaries and intersections of various industries.”

In 2014, Dubai Media City was the media partner for the Arab Media Forum, a major platform highlighting the issues of concern and providing insights about the region to the rest of the world.
